Breakthrough in Single-Curved and Double-Curved Technology. Publication Date: December 6, 2025

As global architectural design continue to evolve, complex curved elements such as single-curved and double-curved forms present a world-class challenge to the processing and installation precision of metal facades. Single-curved panels require consistent and uniform curvature, while double-curved panels demand smooth transitions in both longitudinal and latitudinal directions, placing extremely high demands on forming techniques. The successful application of single and double-curved metal facades in numerous international airports, cultural venues, and commercial landmark projects demonstrates that even large-curvature fluid geometries, can be perfectly realized through precision fabrication and accurate installation. This technological breakthrough is propelling metal facades from standardization towards customization, catering to the increasingly diverse design requirements of architects worldwide.

Alcatop Shanghai Supports Saudi Red Sea International Airport Construction, Supplies 80,000 sqm High-End Metal Curtain Wall System

ALCATOP SHANGHAI INTERNATIONAL CO., LIMITED has supplied a total of 80,000 square meters of metal curtain wall systems for the Red Sea International Airport in Saudi Arabia, contributing to the development of this world-class sustainable aviation hub. Red Sea International Airport serves as the primary gateway for Saudi Arabia's Red Sea Project (Red Sea Global). Designed by the renowned British architectural firm Foster + Partners, its design draws inspiration from the forms of the desert, oasis, and sea. The airport features five dune-shaped terminal pods, crafted to evoke the experience of "arriving at a luxury resort." In January 2026, the airport achieved LEED Platinum certification, making it the first airport in Saudi Arabia and one of only five airports globally to receive this prestigious recognition. The airport is powered entirely by renewable energy, achieving energy self-sufficiency through an on-site solar farm, and is the first airport in Saudi Arabia to offer Sustainable Aviation Fuel. In 2025, the project was featured on a Saudi national commemorative postage stamp, underscoring its international significance. Upon full operation, the airport is projected to accommodate one million visitors annually by 2030, providing seamless connectivity to luxury resorts along the Red Sea coast via various modes of transport, including seaplanes and boats. Following the collaborations on the Lusail Stadium and the Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve Hotel, this project further validates Alcatop Shanghai's sustained commitment and technical expertise in the high-end Middle Eastern construction market.

Alcatop Shanghai Provides State-of-the-Art facade Systems for the Nujuma Hotel in Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Project

On the west coast of Saudi Arabia, The Red Sea Project is redefining the global luxury tourism landscape with sustainability at its core. As the flagship landmark of this initiative, Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, opened in May 2024 and has since received multiple international accolades, including the Forbes Travel Guide 2024 New Hotel Award and the Condé Nast Johansens 2026 Award for Best New Hotel. Alcatop Shanghai had the privilege of supplying the key architectural facade system for the hotel. Nujuma is the first Ritz-Carlton Reserve in the Middle East. Located on the Ummahat Islands in Saudi Arabia, it was designed by Foster + Partners and developed by Red Sea Global, a subsidiary of the Saudi Public Investment Fund. The hotel’s design is inspired by the curves of the ocean, with 63 shell-shaped villas scattered along the beach and over the water, surrounded by the world’s fourth-largest barrier reef. The construction adhered to strict ecological protection principles, requiring minimal disruption to the marine environment. Alcatop Shanghai supplied double-curved aluminum panels, stainless steel sculptural panels, and other metal facade materials, which offer exceptional corrosion resistance and durability—perfectly suited to the Red Sea’s high-temperature, high-humidity environment. The precision modular design enabled rapid, low-noise assembly on site, fully meeting the developer’s rigorous sustainable construction standards. The panels, finished with a fine spray coating, present a soft texture that echoes the sandy beaches and ocean waves, seamlessly integrating with the architectural philosophy of “living in harmony with nature.” This collaboration underscores Alcatop Shanghai’s expertise in the design and supply of complex, custom-shaped metal facade systems, marking a significant milestone for the company in the high-end Middle Eastern construction market. From China to the Red Sea, 30,000 square meters of metal facade on the remote Ummahat Islands showcase the technical strength and commitment to quality of a Chinese building materials enterprise.

ALCATOP SHANGHAI INTERNATIONAL CO., LTD Strengthens Middle East Footprint with Multiple High-Rise Metal Facade Projects in the Gulf.

In recent years, ALCATOP SHANGHAI INTERNATIONAL CO.,LTD has steadily strengthened its presence in the Middle Eastern metal facade market, delivering integrated system solutions for super high-rise buildings and large-scale commercial complexes across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. In response to the region’s demanding climate—characterized by extreme heat, intense UV radiation, and frequent sandstorms—our company’s technical team engages from the detailed design phase. By fine-tuning structural systems and specifying high-precision curved metal panels with superior weather resistance, our company ensures that each curtain wall unit maintains both long-term performance and visual appeal in the desert environment. Through this process, our company has developed extensive expertise in managing complex international projects. To overcome logistical challenges such as long-distance shipping and limited on-site technical support, ALCATOP SHANGHAI adopted a strategy centered on standardized prefabrication of facade components and modular containerized packaging. This approach significantly reduces the need for on-site labor and processing, enhancing both structural safety and overall project quality. As a result, our company has earned strong recognition from regional partners for its supply chain efficiency and product excellence.
